Programming Director  

PART-TIME CONTRACT ROLE


Overall Objective :

Oversee the programming process with our collaborating artists, create and manage the IMMERSE event schedule, and contribute to programming-related elements for Creative City Project.


    Responsibilities :

    • Work with the core team to set vision and direction of overall program in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization
      • Contribute to the innovative and collaborative growth paths for programming
      • Partner with the core team to create the IMMERSE event
    • Develop an effective plan for managing applicants, create a process and work system to drive productivity, progress goals, and handle set-backs with overall programming
      • Participate in the recruitment of applicants and artists
      • Partner with the core team to create the artist kick off event (June)
      • Correspond and communicate clear information and expectations for artists
      • Lead collaborations ensuring innovation, creativity and quality
      • Review IMMERSE applications and work with our Programming Consultant to lead the artist selection process
      • Track and manage artists’ timeline, requirements and deadlines
      • Manage budget allotment for artist stipend distribution
    • Map-out event schedule and timeline
      • Ensuring a reasonable, feasible production timetable
      • Collaborate with core team to organize small group schedules (i.e. VIP routes)
      • Manage and monitor artist availability, confirmations and involvement
      • Schedule stages and street performances and contribute to street placement 
      • Collaborate with Production Director to ensure tech needs for each performance and installations are feasible and provided
    • Attend Production Meetings
      • Keep up to date on event’s operational and production process
      • Offer professional input on plans and strategies in event related efforts
    • Be present to manage artist and placement on event days, 3rd weekend in October
    • Post-event follow up
      • Present information on programming and contribute in staff post-mortem meeting
      • Participate in creating artist feedback form

     

    Qualifications and Skills :

    • must be available on event days
    • ability to assess artist capacity and amplify or narrow scope of work accordingly
