- This Friday begins the Festival of Trees 2018 at the Orlando Museum of Art. See the museum transformed into a wonderland of designer trees, holiday music, tree lighting, children's events, music, and holiday gifts.

- 8 presenters. 20 slides for 20 seconds each. It's the rapid-fire presentations of PechaKucha Night Orlando v24, this Friday at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

- Saturday, Orlando Beer Festival 2018 comes to the Milk District. Sample 200+ craft beers!

- Lastly, Maker Faire Orlando 2018 is a community-organized, family-friendly celebration featuring local do-it-yourself science, art, rockets, robots, crafts, technology, music, hands-on activities, and more. Experience it Saturday and Sunday!

This Week In Art : 10.29.18

An astrological orchestra, a three-story photo experience, a Halloween classic, and an augmented reality tour through Downtown Orlando. It's "This Week In Art."

Snap! Orlando has been working on an AR app that allows you to walk the streets of Downtown Orlando and see 3D renderings of art on your phone. It debuts at City Unseen - A New [AR]t Experience : Opening nightis this Friday with City Unseen : Guided tour happening on Saturday.

- The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will take their audience on astrological journey Saturday at The Planets. This is a unique orchestral experience that anyone can enjoy.

- IMMERSE 2018 may be over, but The Worlds of Corkcicle and The Giant Ball Pit are open every Friday & Saturday through November 10.

- Dress up and be prepared for flying rice, The Rocky Horror Picture Show Experience happens this Wednesday at the Garden Theatre.

IMMERSE 2018 has come and gone, but don't fret because Orlando has the best artistic events throughout the year. It's "This Week In Art," where we break down what's happening in Orlando over the next seven days.

- This Wednesday at Mad Cow Theatre, see four women from very different walks of life get together in the comedic play, Rapture, Blister, Burn.

- IMMERSE 2018 may be over, but two of our large installations are open every Friday & Saturday through November 10. Play in our 3,200 sq ft ball pit and wander around our three-story photo installation "The Worlds of CORKCICLE.

- This weekend, the Central Florida Community Arts Orchestra play the works of Micheal Jackson, Led Zepplin, Tchaikovsky and more as a part of Our Greatest Hits at Calvary Assembly in Winter Park.

- Lastly, hear an amazing jazz/funk/R&B hybrid this Saturday at The Conglomerate at Blue Bamboo Center For The Arts.

There's a ton happening in your backyard. Get out and see it!

This Week In Art ... IMMERSE!! 🌐And not only are we hosting our annual arts event, but it's bookended by two incredible nights of local art also happening in Downtown Orlando.

- This Friday and Saturday, 1,000+ artists take over downtown for Immerse 2018 from the Creative City Project! Performances. Installations. Projections. The Worlds of CORKCICLE. A 3,200 sq ft ball pit. And SO SO much more!

- Thursday, Downtown Arts District Orlando presents 9th Annual Dia De Los Muertos & Monster Factory Event. It showcases Day of the Dead and Halloween inspired art from artists all over the country.

- Sunday is the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras 62nd Season Opener. See four orchestras composed of incredibly talented young people rock Bob Carr Theater.

- This weekend, the Orlando Ballet Company and School opens their season with Carmina Burana, presented by Orlando Ballet.

- Also happening downtown, the Orlando Story Club: Down to the Wire is Wednesday at The Abbey.

- Get in the Halloween spirit with Phantasmagoria. Friday through Monday, they're bringing their Victorian horror stories to the John & Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center for Phantasmagoria IX "Homecoming" - Orlando Dates.

- Get extra freaked out at The Birds, showing at the Garden Theatre all this month. If you've ever seen Alfred Hitchcock's classic film, you know you're in for something scary.

- Beer + the library?! It's true! This Friday is Booktoberfest 2018 at Orange County Library System (FL).

- Saturday, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra is playing a FREE concert at St. Luke's Lutheran Church from 7 to 9 p.m.

- Friday, Flying Horse Big Band brings their award-winning sound to UCF. Flying Horse is actually the bang band of the Jazz Studies program at UCF.

- This Saturday, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra opens their season at Bob Carr Theatre with Opening Night: Pines of Rome as well as Latin American and Scotish music.

- The International Food and Drink Festival Orlando, FL is at Lake Eola this Sunday. It's free and you can taste food and drink from around the globe.

- Friday, Central Florida Community Arts opens Noises Off, a comedic play about plays going all wrong.

This Week In Art : 09.10.18

Orlando is a hub for artists from all over the globe. This week, you can experience three art events that will leave you stunned. 

- This Friday is the opening of Vibrant Vision a collection that features work from African American artists from 1930 to today. There are two opening receptions: Vibrant Vision: African Diaspora Opening Reception at Crealdé School of Art and Vibrant Vision: African Diaspora Heritage Center Reception at Hannibal Square Heritage Center.

- Also Friday, Nick Cave. Feat. opens at Orlando Museum of Art. The exhibit will feature sculptures and video installations tackling themes of social justice.

- Saturday, The Mennello Museum of American Art presents Our Orlando: Artists Panel. Artists will talk about their work and stories.

- Running until the end of September, go see A Year With Frog and Toad at Orlando Repertory Theatre

- Finally, don't forget about Immerse 2018 from the Creative City Project, happening October 19 & 20 in Downtown Orlando.

This Week In Art : 09.03.18

There is SO SO much going on in the Orlando area this week. Get out and experience something new!

- This Wednesday, the Latin American Musical In the Heights opens at Orlando Shakes. Fun fact, this musical was written by Lin Manuel Miranda before he crafted 'Hamilton'.

- Running through September 24, go see Shrek the Musical at Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park where the green one invites you to "Stay off my swamp!"

- Get your salsa shoes. Bachata Downtown is Friday night at The Balcony Orlando. Dance classes start at 8!

- Lastly, the award-winning Gypsy is at Garden Theatre continues its run until September 16.

- Enjoy Star Wars: Return of the Jedi like never before. This Saturday at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing the music live, while the scifi fantasy classic is projected above them.

- In a jazzy mood? Thursday, The Tal Cohen Trio presents “Gentle Giants” at Timucua Arts Foundation White House. 

- Friday, the Central Florida Community Arts Orchestra & Choir presents "We The People," featuring performances of patriotic songs.

- Finally, burlesque musical "Gypsy" opens this weekend at Garden Theatre.

ORLANDO! There's so much art to experience this week. Don't let it go unappreciated. (Art gets sad when it goes unappreciated.)

- This Saturday, UCF Flying Horse Editions: The Art of Collaboration opens at Atlantic Center for the ArtsFlying Horse Editions is a collaborative research studio for visual artists at the University of Central Florida. It offers visiting artists the opportunity to work with FHE technicians to push the boundaries of their work.

- This Thursday is 3rd Thursday Orlando. Get out and experience tons of free art all thorughout Downtown Orlando. 

- Friday, Snap! Orlando opens their Summer / Fall 2018 Exhibition at the 420 East location. This year 40+ Florida artists are showcasing their work. 

- Lastly, have you been to Adults-Only Science Night Live? Every second Saturday, Orlando Science Center throws a 21+ event where visitors can do experiments, stargaze through telescopes, and watch movies in their theater all while enjoying adult beverages.

There's no excuse to stay home this week. Get out and experience something!

- You do not want to miss 'The Pirates of Penzance' from Central Florida Community Arts. It's a musical comedy about pirates and runs through August 26. 

- This past weekend, Orlando Museum of Art opened a new exhibit, 'Zen Tales', featuring the work of comic and children's book illustrator Jon J Muth. 

- The Central Florida Community Arts Classical Choir has a concert this Friday at 7 p.m. at Maitland Presbyterian Church

- Lastly, Timucua Arts Foundation hosts Argentinian Music for Flute and Piano this Sunday.

National Dance Day Orlando begins this Friday at noon with the NDDO Kickoff Event at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

- Then all day Saturday, National Dance Day Orlando 2018 continues with all different types of dance classes for all experience levels.

- This Sunday, Opera Orlando hosts Opera on Park featuring Alex Mansoori.

'This Week In Art', we focus on two beautiful Winter Park buildings, Cornell Fine Arts Museum and The Alfond Inn, and the historic art that is held within them. Enjoy.

- If you haven't been to The Cornell yet, now is the time to explore. This Thursday, they're conducting a guided museum tour.

- Also in Winter Park, The Alfond Inn features works from the Cornell's contemporary art collection. This Thursday is Bach at The Alfond | Chuck Archard - Classical Jazz

- Wednesday at The AbbeyOrlando Story Club: What a Mess! features true stories being told by regular Orlandians.

- You do not want to miss the Mr. Rogers documentary, Won't You Be My Neighbor?, at the Enzian Theater.

- Currently at Orlando Museum of Art, artists from all over the state are on display at the 5th annual Florida Prize in Contemporary Art Exhbition.
